The West Virginia State Bar Association http://www.wvbar.org reports that it has passed a bylaw requiring all attorneys in W.Va to disclose whether they have professional liability insurance.
Short of requiring that attorneys are insured, W.Va has taken the step of requiring disclosure. http://www.newsandsentinel.comreports that although a number of states require professional malpractice insurance, W.Va has required disclosure only. Limits are a base $100,000 per claim and an aggregate of $ 300,000. Failure to disclose may lead to a penalty of fines and suspension.
