The Lousiville KY Courier Journal reports that Sullivan Cromwell has settled a legal malpractice law suit for $ 25.5 million dollars. The plaintiff is Ventas, which says it is one of the “nations leading healthcare real estate investment trusts.”
“Ventas sued the firm in 2002, saying it provided bad advice in guiding the former Vencor Inc. through its split into two companies in 1998. Ventas expects to have $16 million left after paying its legal bills.
The company will use $2 million to set up the Ventas Charitable Foundation, which will support philanthropic causes in the communities where it operates.”
